M2404 Switch

M2404 is a carrier class high performance Ethernet based Access Edge device supporting Ethernet Ring as well as star topology deployments. M2404 is a managed Layer 2+/Layer 3 switch for Metro Networks, Multi Tenant Units, workgroups and access network applications. It is equipped with 24 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports, 2 10/100/1000Base-T value added ports and 2 Gigabit uplink ports supporting pluggable optics (SFP). M2404 can be seamlessly deployed as part of an Ethernet in the first mile service. It supports Layer 2 VPNs through QinQ, as well as a range of Ethernet Private Line/LAN services. M2404’s standards compliant implementation ensures interoperability with third party equipment. M2404 supports standard SNMP and can be managed via any standards based management software. For textbased management, M2404 provides Industry Standard CLI via RS232, Telnet and SSHv2.Adedicated management Ethernet port is available to separate management traffic from subscriber traffic. PRODUCT INFORMATION M2404 has optional Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) support and can provide 48V DC power up to 15Watts via all Fast Ethernet Ports. This feature can be used to power VoIP Phones, WiFi Access Points, IP surveillance cameras and a range of other devices on an Ethernet network. Check for cable shorts, cable length and other conditions is available on all subscriber FE Ports. Optional K.21 power protection is available.
